Hangzhou Essence Tour

The first day is predicted for arrival, accommodating and settling in. There are no special activities predicted for this day.

The West Lake is a very beautiful and peaceful place little bit outside of the Hangzhou. It has a surface of almost 6 square kilometres and there is an island in the middle of it which is even more beautiful. The paved tracks, old style structures and bridges only amplify the beauty of this place. After this place, the tour goes to one of the most important Buddhist temples in China called Lingyin Temple. It is a masterpiece of the Chinese architectures and it also contains some invaluable items including the unique stone carvings that were made from the 10th to the 14th century. The last stop of the day is a visit to the Six Harmonies Pagoda. This structure is a great piece of classic Chinese architecture in which the usage of bricks and wood has been brought to the perfection. It blends in the countryside perfectly and is more than worth of seeing. The day ends in the local Restaurant where you will be served a pretty tasty lunch that is made without using any of the extravagant spices. Meals: Breakfast and a Chinese lunch

This day is more than interesting and packed with action. It starts in the Xixi National Wetland Park which is the only park of this kind in china so far and although it is not too big (only 3.6 square kilometres) it is a perfect example of the urban wetlands. After this park, the tour goes to the Hu Qingyu Hall which is a Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine Museum. Traditional Chinese medicine is famous across the globe and this place offers the insight in all of the aspects of it. It is also the only museum of this type in china that is situated in the ancient building and that makes it absolutely unique. Here you can see some items that will explain both development of the Chinese traditional medicine, the original surrounding in which it was developing and the application of it. So, this place will give you something to remember for the rest of your life. Later on, the tour will lead you to the Residence that was once used by Hu Xueyan. This is a luxurious palace that was built in 1872, during the Qing Dynasty. It covers the surface of 7.56 hectares and it was built at enormous expense so there is definitely something to see there. You will have a lunch break in the local Restaurant before the tour continues. This place has a fairly good reputation amongst the restaurants of Hangzhou and having a lunch there should please your taste to the fullest. The final stop of the day is the Tea Plantation in Meijiawu and the shop that is within the complex. In fact, this is the whole village that is specialized in producing all sorts of traditional Chinese teas. Here you will be able to see the whole process of growing, picking, refining and cooking tea. Also, after the tour you can buy some of the finest teas in the shop within the complex.
