Ya'an Transportation

Every year, thousands of travelers, especially the locals, head to Ya’an to experience the more laid-back way of living and to see the giant pandas the city is highly known for. If you’re interested to know how to get there, then you can use any of the following options:

Airport

There’s no airport in Ya’an. Hence, most of the tourists prefer to arrive at Chengdu through its Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan Province, where Ya’an is also a part of.

From the airport highway, you then pass through G5 Jing Kung high-speed highway toward 108 State Road. From there, you can drive toward Dam Road and then merge back to 108 State Road. Traverse the Main Street in Hebei and proceed to Children’s Palace Road.

You can then turn left that leads to South Road QIang and the second right that leads to Dam Road. In a short while you can already arrive in Ya’an. Overall, the travel time takes about 40 minutes to more than an hour, depending on the traffic.

the Guests who are planning to stay in Ya’an for a couple of days can check their hotel and determine if it offers an airport transfer. Choosing it saves the tourists a lot of hassle.

Buses

One of the trusted ways to travel to and from Ya’an is through a bus. There are many different types of bus that can reach Ya’an. A lot of the provincial buses are found in Yucheng in Tingjin Road. These vehicles pass through Ya’an and into different other cities and towns within the province. Moreover, there are buses that travel to other parts of the country.

There is also a special station that is intended for the tourist buses. The number of people they can occupy can be way fewer than the regular buses, but they are also more comfortable and faster since they normally don’t stop just about anywhere but rather in several scenic attractions within Ya’an and the nearby areas.

Most of these tourist buses go through Shimian, Hanyuan, Chengdu, Tianquan, Lushan, Mingshan, and Xingjing. The buses that leave for Chengdu do so every 35 minutes. The travel time is around 2 hours. Buses are available throughout the entire day.

Take note that as tourist buses, they may be exclusive, which means all of the passengers are part of a specific tour or have already been hired by a travel agency.

The internal roads, meanwhile, are served by the buses that come from Xi Men Bus Station. They can also reach the counties of Xingjing and Mingshan.

There are also mini vans that can accommodate fewer people. They are bound around Shangli and Wangyu. The travel time can be between 20 minutes and an hour. They are usually found near the tourist bus stations. Though their exact locations can be change from time to time, they can leave even if they are not full. They can simply pick up more passengers along the way.

Railway

You can also try riding the train by boarding at Wusihe Railway Station located in Hanyuan County. However, these trains don’t really stop in Ya’an but only somewhere close to it.
