I could say that the travel was a very enjoyable, interesting experience for me, exceeding my expectations, comparable to longer travels I made with Esther or again alone such as Pan-Americana, Australia and South Africa, but to go in more details, I answer your questions as follows:

Overall impressions of the trip: I planned the trip reading (not necessary in details) the travel books “Chinesische Seidenstrasse” and “Seidenstrasse – von China durch die Wüsten Gobi and Taklamakan”. Accordingly, I gave Vanessa a list of locations I liked to visit. Apart from the usual day-tours in Pejing (Forbidden City, Great Wall )), Xian ( (Terra Cotta Warriors) and Shanghai (Shanghai Tour), which were all well organized and very well guided, I was able to visit almost all locations as well as a few additional ones, which were interesting to visit. The trip was a great experience, not least because it was very well organized. None of the many air, rail and private transportations, tours, visits to the historical locations along the Silk Road, transfers, hotel reservations, etc. failed. Really exceptional! The 3 private guides, each of whom guided me for several days along the Silk Road were all very attentive, polite and knowledge-able about the sites to visit. I had a great time with them, discussed many subjects and learned a lot about China. Their command of the English language was good (Martin, Abdul) to excellent (Kevin). With Martin I spoke in German. The drivers did an excellent job and were courteous.

I will certainly keep you and China Highlights in mind, if recommending my trip to friends and thank you once more for the excellent job you did for me.
