Located in the southwest of Chengdu city, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (成都双流国际机场) is about 20km from the center of Chengdu. It operates services to more than seventy cities and twenty countries, even Delhi, Sydney, and London. Since September in 2013, this airport becomes much more popular as Chengdu joins Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai in allowing visa-free 72-hour transits. Passengers from the 45 countries can stopover in Chengdu for 72 hours and then fly to a third country.

There are two lobby of the airport. Considered popular tour, it has opened air-line from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou. Visitors are advised to book flights early for this popular trip if your time is very limited. Visitors going to Chongqing or some of cities in Sichuan province must take flights on the old lobby, a short distance away from the new one.

Shuttle buses are availed from center of Chengdu and it will take about 35 minutes and cost 20 yuan. The first bus starts at 5:00am and for 20-minutes intervals each bus. Take a taxi from center of city to airport will cost 60-70 yuan.
