Hi Nancy,

Thanks for the great coordination work for organising my China tour! It was great choosing you as my tour operator. I'd recommend you and your company to my friends if they intend to visit China in future.

I'd like to add some comments on the four guides that took my mom and I around in China:

Chongqing: Jenny was very enthusiastic and full of energy; one can see the conviction she has in her work. She was also very patient with us and could answer all our queries satisfactorily (in English), whether it was about the historic sites or other mundane things. She displayed a wide range of knowledge in her field and scope of work, which I think is commendable.

Xi'an: David was very patient with us and helped us greatly. We are especially grateful when he helped us move our luggage into the train bound for Beijing, and helped us settle a minor dispute with an elderly couple who was sharing a cabin with us. David is very well-read and knowledgeable, and we learnt much about Chinese culture and history from him in addition to the places we visited. We are thankful for this, as his explanations helped us appreciate China's rich history and culture better. He also spoke English well.

Beijing: Jack showed flexibility in rearranging our itinerary according to our wishes and weather conditions as well. He was attentive and noticed we were not feeling well when we first arrived, so he made sure we arrived at our hotel earlier to rest. He was very patient and made sure we could keep up with the pace of the visits. He also taught us alot on Chinese history and culture. Jack was of great help at the railway station, helping us with our luggage all the way into our cabin. We are also grateful that he waited just outside our train on arrival from Xi'an. We were ok with his command of English.

Shanghai: We learnt alot about Shanghai and more from Andy, who impressed us with his encyclopedic knowledge and explanations. He was also very meticulous and attentive to our needs, and showed flexibility in rearranging our itinerary according to the day's conditions and our wishes. We are also grateful to him for helping us with the check-in at the airport, and even helping us with choice of seats in the aircraft. His command of English and accent was easily the best of the four guides we've met.

Once again, thanks much!

Melissa

Hi, Carol

Thanks again for all your help and for organizing this trip of a lifetime for us!

Perhaps we could have spent an extra day in Beijing and an extra day in Xi'an to see the sights more slowly. It was a good pace for me but quite a lot for an elderly person to see. My mother found the pace good but just too much to see in one day.

We loved and appreciated everything we saw.Of course, the Great Wall and the Terra Cotta Warriors were a real highlight! Joe in Beijing and Olivia in Xi'an were both EXCEPTIONAL!!! They both were VERY pleasant people who were very knowledgeable and attentive to all our needs. They really worked hard to make our experience memorable and went the extra mile to make sure that we were comfortable and that all our needs and expectations were met. We didn't have much time with Charlie in Chongqing and Helen in Yichang but they were both very good. Helen in particular was very helpful and kind.

The meals were all very good. The most memorable meal was the excellent dumpling restaurant in Xi'an. Our biggest concern was the quantity of food we received at each meal. There was always WAY too much food for us to eat! We felt it was wasteful and would have proffered fewer dishes.

I would suggest that don't forget to bring a rain jacket/ umbrella. We encountered quite a lot of rain. Bring sunscreen as it's not easy to buy. Learn a few phrases in Chinese and bring a dictionary to help you communicate in the stores and restaurants in the evenings when you're on your own. Don't forget to bring hand sanitizer and tissue for the washrooms. We enjoyed the Beijing opera. It was a good experience.

We really appreciate everything you did and wish you all the best!

Sincerely,

Michele  and Alice

Dear supervisor,

We enjoyed our China vacation organized by China Highlights very much!  Lee Li, our travel advisor was very helpful in explaining all aspects of the tour ahead of time, and everything was as expected or better! Everything was taken care of very well being pick-up on arrival at the airports, hotel check-ins, the different tours with English speaking tour guides, and even help with check-ins for domestic flights! The hotels were good (the one at Xian being really nice!), with complete breakfast buffets. We really enjoyed the Yangtze cruise, the sights as we made our way through the many gorges were indeed spectacular. The cruise ship rating was a bit over-stated, but the crew made up for it with very friendly and efficient service! I must admit we were a bit apprehensive before the trip, but China Highlights were true to their word, and made our vacation very pleasurable indeed. Based on our experience, I would recommend them without hesitation!

Hi Angela,

Greetings and this is a quick email from Sydney. Although my wife, Pou has been communicating with Simon, I have been patiently reading all the correspondence between them.

We were first introduced to your Company by my sister, Chai who lives in Hawaii. At that time we had already started making some enquiries from different companies for our original party of only 4 pax for a tour of China to include Beijing, Xian, the Yangtse cruise and Shanghai.

I have been most impressed with Simon's prompt responses to all our queries however trivial they might have been and his calm patience whilst we have got back to him with an increased tour party of 6 and then finally 8.Obviously, we have had to request different costings for the larger group as well as for some minor changes to the itinerary, too.

Please pass on our warmest congratulations and thanks to Simon for his professionalism and hard wiork and we do hope to finalise this tour shortly with you'll once we get some final adjustments from Simon.

Thanks and regards.

Hi Jean,

I just want to thank you for orignizing our China tour.

We wanted a trip that would give up a taste of the more widely known Chinese tourist atrractions and this gave up just that: the Great Wall, the Terracotta Warriors, etc. My mum also enjoyed the cruise down the Yangtze River very much. Our guide, Summer in Xi'an is the most outstanding tour guide. She was very professional and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and looked-after. For example, finding us seats in restaurants away from smokers, or when we had some concerns regarding our credit card she immediatedly escorted us to serveral banks to deals with the issue. She was flexible with the schedule and with her time spent with us. She was very personable and easy to chat with. Also her knowledge about the different locations was excellent. Also, most drivers provded safe and comfortable experience, though I experienced quite a lot of motion sickness with our Shanghai drivers with a combination of bad traffice.

I enjoyed Chinese food mostly, though I found the service and hotel meals in our Shanghai hotel less satisfactory and the location also less convenient than the others were. We most liked the Days Inn Forbidden City and the cruise. The selected on this tour were excellent, though the budget was usually more than necessary for the two of us.

In Shanghai, we liked Cheng Huang Miao and Nanjing Road for shopping; in Beijing, we liked Wangfujing. We would recommend these shopping streets to future travellers. While the cycling around the City Wall in Xi'an was a surprising delight. We really enjoyed the sights and exercise. The Shanghai Bund at night was also very beautiful and the Yangtze River cruise was lovely, scenic experience.

We enjoyed the shows recommended by our guides: the Tang Dynasty show in Xi'an, the Legend of the Monk show in Beijing. I would also recommend all the restaruants where we had our meals (except the one in Suzhou which was only so-so), they are a real highlight.

I will be glad to recommend China Highlights to my friends and colleagues, particularly for the value for money and the customer service. We have not had any problems at all and all our queries were answered impressively promptly.

Thanks again!

Annie

Hi Candy,

About the scenic attractions, Forbidden City and Xian, the city and the Warriors were fabulous. And the guides, Ekko in Xian knew history, spoke great English and answered all our questions.  Hotels and meals were up to standard, the Sofitel was a lovely spot, the Tang Dynasty show we saw in Xi'an was great.

We would recommend China Highlights to friends, every connection was there on the tour, every guide showed up on time and did a good job.

Some tips for future visitors---The 'slide' down the great wall. The ride through the country was great. Also the visit to the home by rickshaw in Beijing was good.  Each traveler take their own hand sanitizer, small container of tissues and 'airborne' to take after air travel.
