Day1

Chengdu Arrival

Attractions:Airport/Train Station/Port to Hotel Transfer

Our guide and will meet at the airport/train station/port upon your arrival and transfer you to your hotel.

Upon your arrival, our guide will pick you up at the arrival hall of the airport. The drive to the hotel in Chengdu takes an hour. The guide will give you a free CH cell phone package which includes free rental for the cell phone and SIM card and at least 30 free minutes. Return the phone to your guide when you depart. Dinner is not included. Our guide can give you suggestions.

Day2

Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou by Flight.

Attractions:Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area,Huanglong Chair Lift(Up),Huanglong Chair Lift(Down)

Take a morning flight from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou. The tour guide in Jiuzhaigou will meet your at the airport upon your arrival, and then take you to Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area (with Chair Lift) which is about 1 1/2 drive. As you overlook the whole area it is said to look like a golden dragon and that is the meaning of its name. It is famous for “the colorful ponds, the beaches, the snow-capped peaks, the valleys, the ancient temple, and the folk customs”. Chinese call the area “the paradise in the earth”. You will then go to your hotel in Jiuzhaigou which is a 2 1/2 hours drive.

Day3

Jiuzhaigou

Attractions:Shuzheng Valley,Sight-Seeing Shuttle Bus,Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area,Rize Valley,Zechawa Valley

A full day tour of Jiuzhaigou highlights. After breakfast, we will first visit Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area. Jiuzhaigou Valley is called "the beautiful world". Because of its isolation it is protected from noise from the outside world. The primitive natural scenery is well preserved. Shuzheng Valley, it is reputed to be the epitome of Jiuzhaigou. The lakes - Luwei Hai (Reed Lake), Penjing Hai, Huohua Hai (Sparking Lake), Wolong Hai (Sleeping Dragon Lake), Shuzheng Waterfall, and Laohu Hai (Tiger Lake) reflect the sunshine and the surrounding colorful scenery. The on to Rize Valley which is said to be the best route to see the multi-colored lakes, high waterfalls, outstanding beaches and virgin forests. Lastly visit Zechawa Valley. A Simple lunch is included.

Day4

Jiuzhaigou to Chengdu by Flight.

Fly from Jiuzhaigou to Chengdu. The tour guide in Chengdu will meet your at the airport and take you to have lunch at a great local restaurant- Chenmapo Beancurd Restaurant, and then on to your hotel.

Day5

Chengdu to Chongqing to Yangtze

Attractions:Board the ship from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and departs Chongqing at 9:00pm.(Dinner is not included),Panda Room in Chongqing Zoo,Three Gorges Museum,Ciqikou Old Town

Chongqing Zoo

Take a morning train from Chengdu to Chongqing. The tour guide in Chongqing will meet your at the train station upon your arrival. Before boarding the ship, you will have a half day Chongqing tour to see the pandas at the Chongqing zoo. Then go to Ciqikou Old Town to experience an authentic local community and on to the Three Gorges Museum. Lunch is at a great local restaurant. After finishing the tour, your guide will transfer you to the pier to board the ship between 5:00pm to 8:00pm. The ship departs Chongqing at 9:00pm. Dinner is not included but the guide will help to organize dinner for you.

Yangtze

Attractions:Welcoming Banquet, Dancing Party, Shore excursion to Shibaozhai(14;00-16;00).Optinal tour to Fengdu Ghost City(RMB260 per person).

Shibaozhai, literally means Stone Treasure Fortress, Located in Zhong County, it was first built in Qing Dynasty in 1750. Shibaozhai is one historic site that will look much different in 2009. The wooden architecture stands on the riverside. It is built by catch upon a rectangular rock with sheer cliffs with a height of 56 meters and 12 stories. And every floor of the wooden structure contains interesting artifacts. Each of the 12 floors of Shibaozhai is dedicated to a famous general of the Three Kingdoms period (220-265AD), a local scholar or a renowned Chinese poet.A shore excursion to Shibaozhai(14;00-16;00) is included today. Yangtze

Attractions:Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge, Shennong Stream(1:30pm-5:30pm), Crew's Performance

Passes through the 1st gorge--Qutang Gorge. Passes through the 2cd gorge---Wu Gorge. Shore excursion to Shennong Stream(1:30pm-5:30pm). You have the option of visiting White Emperor City(RMB260 per person). Crew's Performance. Sails through the 5-steps Ship locks. Shennong Stream is another tributary of the Yangtze River, and its fast-flowing, crystal clear water runs southwards through deep gorges. The stream races past large and small karst caves, flocks of swallows, sheer cliffs, deep gorges, waterfalls, three-colored springs, rapids, the ancient plank path, a suspended coffin in the cliff, groups of ancient tombs and marvelous karst formationsToday, the ship will pass through Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge which are two of the main gorges of the Three Gorges. The third is Xiling Gorge. Qutang Gorge is the most majestic Gorge and there are many scenic spots along the 5 miles of bank. Some are Baidi City (White Emperor City) is the most famous (You have the option of visiting White Emperor City (RMB260 per person.). Different from Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge is elegant with major points of interest being Twelve Peaks and Three Little Gorges. Shennong Stream excursion is in the afternoon. Shennong Stream has a constant flow of water. Along the waterway you will see eight hundred-meter high waterfall, hanging coffins on the cliff, and the local traditional style ferry boats, Tujia minority family on the river bank and karsts caves with stalagmites. The crew’s performance will be at night.

Day8

Yichang to Departure City

Attractions:Three Gorges Dam Site,Hotel to Airport/Train Station/Port Transfer

Shore excursion to The Three Gorges Dam Site. Arrive in Yichang at 1:00pm. Three Gorges Dam, the largest water conservancy project ever undertaken by man and it has been a dream for several generations of Chinese people. The construction of the dam formally began in 1994. The body of the dam was completed in 2003, and the whole construction has been completed in 2009. It will be 2,335 meters long, 185 meters high, 18 meters wide on the top and 130 meters wide at the bottom.The tourists can get access to the top of the dam and enjoy different kinds of photo opportunities.

You will be transferred to the airport/train station/port by our private car/van.

Today we will sail through the Three Gorges Dam and cross the top of the dam see whole project. The ship arrives in Yichang at 1:00pm. Our guide will meet your at the pier and transfer you to the airport to board on your flight.

Auch besonders erwähnen möchte ich die Hilfestellung, die Lissy uns angedeihen ließ. Ein von uns im Flugzeug vergessenes I-Pad wurde wiederbeschafft. Wir haben schon gar nicht mehr daran geglaubt. Auch hierfür nochmals ein herzliches " Danke schön ".

Hallo,liebe Kim,

Ja,wir sind wieder gut zu Hause angekommen.

Was die Reise anbelangt,so waren wir von vielen Dingen beeindruckt und auch ueberrascht.

.Die Reise im Nachtzug war schon sehr stressig.Aber das liegt vielleicht auch an unserem Alter.Aber die Fahrten mit den Tagzuegen sind wirklich sehr weiterzu empfehlen.

Das Wetter war sehr gut fuer unsere Aktivitaeten.Genau die richtige Zeit.

Was die Hotels anbelangt,so waren diese alle sehr gut,in Lage und Ausstattung.

Die beste Sehenswurdigkeit koennte ich jetzt so nicht sagen.Sie waren alle sehr beeindruckend und interessant.

Meinem Mann hat am besten die Terrakottaarmee und Shanghai mit seinen Skylines gefallen.Besonders die Fahrt mit dem Schiff am Abend.Wirklich sehr schoen.

Wenn ich jetzt alle Eindruecke schreiben wuerde,das waehre sehr viel.

Beijing Stadt ist schon (fuer uns) eigenartig.Der Verkehr!!!!Oh du meine Guete.Sehr beeindruckend wie die vielen Menschen damit umgehen koennen.

Xi'an war da schon anders.

Der Reisefuehrer und Fahrer 'Spitze'

Aber das haben wir ja schon im Reisebericht erwaehnt.Fuer die Show am Abend unbedingt Werbung machen.Sie war sehr schoen.

Die Nebelstadt macht ihren Namen alle Ehre.Aber unsere Reisefuehrerin war auch sehr nett und hat alles erklaert was man an einem halben Tag vermitteln kann.Und dann das einchecken auf dem Schiff.Ein Abenteuer.Ohne Unsere Begleitung haetten wir das niemals geschafft!!!!Super.

Was wir dann auf dem sehr schoenen Schiff erlebt haben,am Ende,kann man sonst niergendwo erleben.Das geht,glaube ich,auch nur in China.

Wir hatten das Glueck,dass wir uns an eine Reisegruppe mit Rollstuhlfahrerinnen anschliessen konnte.Aber dieser Reisefuehrer!!Man kann seine Art und Kompetenz garnicht genug loben.Er hat sich nicht nur um seine Gruppe gekuemmert,sondern auch um uns.

Das Ender der Schiffreise war wohl chaotisch,weil das Schiff zu lange in den Schleusen war.Dadurch haetten wir Niemals den Zug nach Shanghai erreicht.Ohne die vorbildliche Hilfe des Reiseleiters Herr Huang und der Besatzung hat es aber alles Geklappt.

Vielleicht koennen Sie den Herrn Huang auch bei Chinahighlights mit aufnehmen!!

Herr Huang hat fuer uns nicht nur mit Chiang telefoniert,sondern auch den checkout fuer uns gemacht und zum schluss auch noch unsere Koffer an Land gebracht.

Wir moechten uns nochmals recht herzlich dafuer bedanken.Auch bei der Besatzung.

Das war unser absolutes Highlight in bezug auf Aufmerksamkeit,Kompetenz,Umsichtigkeit und der Willen zum helfen.

Die anderen Reiseleiter hatten es da wesentlich einfacher,was auch gut so war.Sie waren alle aufmerksam und bei kleineren Problemen immer zur stelle.Sehr gut.

Auch die Fahrer waren sehr umsichtig und sicher in der Fahrweise.Man musste nie auf sie warten.Sehr gut.

Was das Essen anbelangt,so war es sehr gewohnungsbeduerftig.Aber das ist ja wohl auch normal.Die Asiatische Kueche ist eben anders als unsere.Aber man wusste immer was Man isst.Vieles war sehr lecker.Aber kein Mensch isst alles.

Mit dem Einkaufen war es O.K.Man wurde zu nichts genoetigt einzukaufen wenn man nicht wollte.

Kurzum war diese Reise sehr interessant und lehrreich.Man hat viele Eindruecke mitgenommen.Es wird noch eine Weile dauern,bis man alles im Kopf ausgewertet hat.

Ich wuerde diese Reise mit China Highlights sehr empfehlen,aber in unserem Alter ist man vielleicht in einer Gruppe besser aufgehoben.
